The young lady who marries a man for the sake of reforming him, or with the expectation of reclaiming him from such dangerous habits as drinking, or other forms of dissipation, incurs a risk of personal danger, the wreck of happiness, and the almost inevitable failure of her efforts, no matter how self-sacrificing and persevering they may be, to which the majority of young women seem to be totally blind. Warnings against so dangerous a course cannot be uttered too frequently.

Hey Kate! (Re: Hey Sussy!)

Okay, due to popular demand (or, rather, the demand of five people), I have started a separate craft blog. You can find it over at Sussycrafts. I will be cross-posting all my new crafts on my regular tumblr, so you don’t have to follow the new one if you are only mildly interested in my crafts.

For the superfans, like Spencer, Sussycrafts will also feature Classic Crafts, such as the much-ballyhooed bookshelves, which I did before I had a tumblr. I will also post repeats … So for instance if I made a dress in one fabric and then (SPOILER ALERT) made it again in another fabric two months later, I’d show you the new one. Sussycrafts is for everything I’ve ever made or will ever make, while this site (sussybuckets) will continue to have only a casual sampling of new crafts, as well as the usual mix of self-promotion, sappy videos, and anti-Twilight rantings. The choice is yours, America!

You should really start a blog dedicated solely to your craft projects, so I wouldn’t have to scroll through 17 pages of your Tumblr only to discover that you never posted pictures of the shelves you made when you moved to L.A.

Plus, I really enjoy your craft projects. Don’t you guys agree with me?

This might be old news to some, but my sister just sent me the link for this and I have to say it is UTTERLY WONDERFUL. It’s a little long, but there are some great LOLs. Posted for the benefit of one Krissy R.R.H.R.

[Food Inc.] is by far the most telling and powerful movie I’ve seen all year … I haven’t seen the new Twilight yet.
Martha Stewart, always hilarious, talking to the director of Food Inc., Robert Kenner.
I’ve never seen [Twilight] and nor will I ever … I don’t like vampires. I don’t like the wolf that pops out of the screen when I’m watching my TV at night. I don’t like it. I don’t want anything to do with it. I don’t like the shirts. I don’t like any of it.
Miley Cyrus, stop making me love you!!! Also, come see our Twilight show tomorrow night.
This is tomorrow!!! Come see this!!! Last show!!!

Craft Project #14
Bookshelf Rehab
CKula needed a little bookshelf for his new office and we found this dusty one at the thrift store for $8. Inspired by one of my vintage glasses, I used black and gold metallic spray paint, a saw and a new set of legs to transform it into something a little cuter, but still masculine enough to go with all his black office furniture.
He will not be taking the Liberace photo with him to work.
