The Emmy people need to create an award for Best Performance In a Role That Is a Little Less Than Supporting But Is So Integral To The Show It Needs An Award Anyway. And then give that Emmy to Brad Leland for his perfect portrayal of Buddy Garrity in Friday Night Lights for the last five seasons. Honestly, Buddy might be one of my top five TV characters of all time. OF ALL TIME. He’s so multi-layered and so real, so bombastic and yet so pathetic. Also, major props to the casting department of FNL for finding the ultimate “Buddy Jr.” this year, and to the writers for immediately breaking his legs.
